Business Development Manager – Hospitality and Retail | George

Job purpose:
Our client in the food sector is looking for a Business Development Manager to grow sales in George and surrounding areas. Build relationships with retail and hospitality customers, bring in new accounts and help customers identify opportunities to improve sales and profitability.

Responsibilities:

• Find and approach new business customers through cold calling and regular sales visits.


• Call on retailers, hotels and restaurants in George and surrounding areas.


• Build customer relationships and develop plans to grow existing accounts.


• Use sales information and customer feedback to identify opportunities for growth.


• Learn the product range and explain its benefits and practical applications to customers.


• Understand customer needs, resolve problems and take responsibility for their service experience.


• Plan sales activity and use persuasive communication to develop business opportunities.

Qualifications and experience:

• Matric.


• At least five years’ sales experience.


• Strong numerical skills and confidence working with sales figures and margins.


• Good planning and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think quickly.


• Customer-focused, with the ability to build relationships and influence decisions.


• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within the area.
