Purpose of Role:

To load rubber and metal in moulds and place in press machines in order to produce molded parts according to set specifications

Key Responsibilities:

Safety First:

• Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.
• Maintain the safety of all systems and processes in the Isando Foundry and implement world class safety practices as guided by the Health and Safety department and senior management

Operations:

• Identify workload and refer to job card to identify specific rubber and weight there off.
• Able to read drawings
• Loading and unloading of presses according to SOP standards
• Using of lifting equipment to prepare for loading of presses
• Manage and prioritize all work responsibilities
• Identify rubber requirements for the particular press
• Preparing and weighing of rubber as per travel card
• Supply rubber to different press as per travel card specification
• Operate extruder to load lifter bars in support of mill liners
• Ability to work under pressure

Support:

• Report any irregularities to the team leader
• Report any unsafe conditions to the shift leader
• Provide quality part to the finishing area

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

• Matric (Grade 12); or 6 to 12 months related experience and/or training in manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 1 years’ experience working with Presses would be an added advantage.
