Plumber - Building Maintenance

The
Qualified Plumber will be responsible for the installation, maintenance,
repair, and inspection of plumbing systems across multiple company properties.
The successful candidate will ensure that all plumbing work complies with
relevant South African regulations and standards while maintaining the safety
and operational efficiency of all buildings.

Plumbing Maintenance and Repairs

• Perform
  preventative and reactive maintenance on plumbing systems.
  
• Diagnose
  and repair leaks, blocked drains, burst pipes, faulty valves, taps,
  geysers, pumps, and sanitary fittings.
  
• Install,
  maintain, and repair water supply, drainage, sewerage, and stormwater
  systems.
  
• Conduct
  routine inspections of plumbing infrastructure across all sites.
  
• Repair
  and replace plumbing fixtures and fittings as required.
  
• Respond
  to plumbing emergencies within agreed service levels.
  

Compliance and Certification

• Ensure
  all plumbing installations and repairs comply with applicable South
  African regulations and standards.
  
• Conduct
  inspections and testing of plumbing systems.
  
• Issue
  Certificates of Compliance (COCs) where legally required and within the
  scope of qualification and registration.
  
• Maintain
  accurate records of inspections, maintenance, repairs, and compliance
  documentation.
  

Site Maintenance and Support

• Travel
  regularly between company sites to perform maintenance and inspections.
  
• Assist
  with general building maintenance activities when required.
  
• Liaise
  with contractors, suppliers, and site management regarding maintenance
  requirements.
  
• Ensure
  all tools, equipment, and vehicles are maintained in good working
  condition.
  

Health and Safety

• Adhere
  to Occupational Health and Safety requirements at all times.
  
• Identify
  and report safety hazards and risks.
  
• Use
  appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  
• Ensure
  safe working practices are followed on all sites.
  

Requirements

• Qualified
  Plumber with a recognized Trade Certificate (Red Seal or equivalent).
  
• Registered
  and compliant to issue Plumbing Certificates of Compliance (COCs) in South
  Africa.
  
• Minimum
  3–5 years' post -trade experience in building maintenance, facilities
  management, or commercial property maintenance.
  
• Experience
  working across multiple sites will be advantageous.
  
• Valid
  South African Driver's Licence.
  
• Must
  be willing and able to travel regularly between sites.
  
• Strong
  fault -finding and troubleshooting skills.
  
• Knowledge
  of plumbing regulations and compliance requirements.
  
• Ability
  to work independently with minimal supervision.
  
• Good
  communication and reporting skills.
  
• Strong
  customer service orientation.
  
• Ability
  to prioritize and manage multiple maintenance requests.
