Production Kitchen Assistant

A busy ice cream and dessert production outlet in Cape Town is looking for a hands on, energetic PRODUCTION KITCHEN ASSISTANT to join the team at Woodstock Quarters, Cape Town. This role suits someone early in their career who enjoys physical work and learns fast.
You don’t need ice cream experience. If you can bake, work hard, and show up every day, the outlet will teach you everything else.

What you’ll do
• Work the outlet’s baking station: cookies, waffles, malva pudding.
• Operate and maintain the outlet’s ice cream machines (full training provided).
• Monitor texture, quality, and consistency of every batch.
• Weigh ingredients precisely and follow recipes accurately.
• Keep clear production records.
• Maintain a spotless workspace and deep clean machines between batches.
• Move, organise, and store ingredients and stock.

What you need to bring

• Ability to lift and carry 25kg bags repeatedly throughout a shift.

• Stamina to stand and work at a fast pace all day.

• Reliability — you arrive on time, every day.

• Accuracy with weighing, measuring, and following recipes.

• Clean, organised work habits.

• Good English communication skills (spoken and written).

• Comfortable using basic computer systems for production records.

Hours & Pay

• Monday to Friday, daytime production hours.

• Occasional Saturdays during peak season.

• Starting salary: from R10 500 - depending on experience.
