Our client is an online casino games studio operating within the iGaming industry.
The studio develops online casino games and requires high-quality 2D animation across symbols, characters, and UI elements, with a focus on smooth game-engine integration and performance within online and mobile environments.
THE ROLE: SENIOR 2D SPINE ANIMATOR
The Senior 2D Spine Animator will bring static art assets to life through dynamic animations that enhance the gaming experience.
Working at a senior and technical level, the role covers animation creation, technical implementation, asset optimisation, rigging workflows, and advanced Spine features. You will collaborate with 2D artists, game designers, and developers to maintain cohesive visual quality across online casino games.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Animate symbols, characters, and UI elements using Spine 2D at a senior and technical level.
- Implement animations with precision to ensure smooth integration into game engines.
- Develop both stylised and realistic animations depending on project requirements.
- Optimise assets for performance and file-size constraints within online casino games.
- Collaborate with 2D artists, game designers, and developers to ensure cohesive visual quality.
- Maintain consistent file structures and documentation for team handover.
- Contribute to technical animation solutions, rigging workflows, and advanced Spine features.
ABOUT YOU
- Senior-level expertise in Spine 2D, supported by a portfolio of casino/iGaming animations.
- Expert-level experience within the iGaming industry.
- Solid understanding of animation principles, timing, and polish.
- Experience in technical implementation and exporting for production pipelines.
- Knowledge of performance optimisation within online and mobile environments.
- Experience using industry-standard software alongside Spine, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and After Effects.
- Professional level of written and spoken English.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Must be a South African citizen.
