Reservations Agent – 5-Star Hotel

Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced and professional Reservations Agent to join a prestigious 5-star hotel in Franschhoek, Western Cape. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing reservations and guest enquiries while ensuring a seamless and personalised booking experience from initial enquiry through to arrival.

Key responsibilities

• Handle all incoming reservations enquiries via telephone, email and other booking channels.
  
  


• Process individual and group reservations accurately and efficiently.
  
  


• Provide guests with detailed information regarding accommodation, rates, availability and hotel facilities.
  
  


• Ensure all reservations are correctly captured and maintained on the hotel’s reservations system.
  
  


• Follow up on enquiries and convert opportunities into confirmed bookings.
  
  


• Manage amendments, cancellations and special requests professionally.
  
  


• Communicate guest requirements and preferences clearly to the relevant hotel departments.
  
  


• Maintain accurate guest profiles and reservation records.
  
  


• Assist with upselling room categories, packages and additional hotel services where appropriate.
  
  


• Monitor availability and ensure bookings are managed in line with hotel revenue and occupancy strategies.
  
  


• Handle guest queries and resolve reservation-related concerns promptly and professionally.
  
  


• Work closely with Front Office, Revenue, Sales and other departments to ensure a seamless guest journey.
  
  


• Maintain a high level of service and professionalism at all times.
  
  

Requirements

• Previous experience in a hotel reservations role is essential.
  
  


• Experience within a 4- or 5-star hotel environment is highly advantageous.
  
  


• Strong knowledge of hotel reservations procedures and systems.
  
  


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  
  


• Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational abilities.
  
  


• A confident and professional telephone manner.
  
  


• Good computer literacy and administrative skills.
  
  


• Ability to work accurately and efficiently under pressure.
  
  


• Strong guest relations skills with a genuine passion for hospitality.
  
  


• Professional presentation and a proactive, service-driven approach.
  
  


• Knowledge of the Franschhoek and Winelands hospitality market would be advantageous.
