Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Sales Manager to lead and grow the Cape Town sales team. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving revenue, identifying new business opportunities, developing customer and supplier relationships, and ensuring the sales team consistently achieves its targets.

The role will also contribute to the broader management team by supporting business strategy, market development and overall company growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and develop new markets, customers, products and growth opportunities across South Africa and neighbouring countries.


• Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and suppliers.


• Lead, manage and motivate the sales team to achieve revenue and profitability targets.


• Set and manage sales budgets, targets and forecasts.


• Drive the full sales process from prospecting through to successful closure.


• Monitor market trends, customer spend and competitive activity.


• Provide product training, coaching and ongoing development to the sales team.


• Develop and implement sales strategies aligned with company objectives.


• Prepare and present revenue, expense, commission and forecasting reports to management.


• Identify staffing requirements and participate in the recruitment, onboarding and performance management of sales staff.


• Ensure appropriate salary structures, budgets and performance measures are in place.


• Build strategic partnerships and continuously identify opportunities to improve sales and profitability.


• Stay up to date with industry developments through training, workshops, conferences and supplier engagement.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a sales management or related sales leadership role.


• Proven and traceable sales track record with demonstrated success in achieving targets.


• Experience within the stainless-steel, tubes or related industry is highly advantageous.


• Strong business acumen and industry knowledge.


• Proven experience managing, coaching and developing sales teams.


• Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation and influencing skills.


• Strong customer relationship management capabilities.


• Commercially driven with a strong focus on revenue and profitability.


• Ability to identify opportunities and take sales initiatives from implementation through to closure.


• Willingness to continuously develop product and industry knowledge.
