INTERFACES: The successful candidates will be responsible for the following:


 


PURPOSE AND MISSION OF THE JOB:


 


The Section Leader is responsible for training, problem solving, running autonomous team meeting, as well provide admin support to the shift supervisor. The safety and productivity of all production employees staffed on designated shift, as well as plant security. The Section Leader will be 80% working on the shop floor and 20% (training, problem solving, running Autonomous team meeting, as well providing admin support to the shift supervisor.).


 


The person in charge complies with Ethics and Compliance Policies.


 


 


ACCOUNTABILITIES & AUTHORITIES:


 


LEADERSHIP


 



  • Being a leadership resource to section members, providing knowledge, experience, motivation, support and advice

  • Constantly seeking the QCD performance improvement proposing with his team

  • Monthly proposal of improvement ideas

  • Knowing proper procedures for workers for training purpose. The Section Leader might be called upon  to share special industry techniques on how to use tools and equipment, or tips on how to improve quality or speed of production.

  • Encourage team effort and supportive attitudes between workers

  • Assist the team where there are gaps in every tasks within the department.


 


SAFETY



  • Instruct the team on the proper us of safety equipment and emergency procedures should they be necessary at any point during the production process

  • Ensure that the team members are supplier with protective gear, including safety glasses, gloves and  protective outer clothing

  • Safety checks on all equipment operated throughout the production process, as well as monitoring  activities of workers during production

  • Spread best environment and EHS practices in the team


 


QUALITY



  • Responsible for meeting quality assurance standards as set by industry programs, such as ISO and

  • APSYS

  • Make sure that all product specifications and manufacturing procedures comply with internal  standards

  • Setting high standards to reach production goals, ensuring that higher quantities produced do not comprise quality. If defects are discovered in the products, it’s the Section Leaders responsibility to  come up with solutions.

  • Continuous Improvement in line with APSYS Guidelines


 


PERFORMANCE MEASURES (OTD, QCD, ETC.)


 



  • Productive Hours, Work Oder Closure MES

  • Adherence to Plan (MPS accuracy)

  • Spent Time / Method time

  • Right first time

  • Near Miss

  • APSYS Score


 


EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:


MANDATORY:


 



  • Matric / Grade 12

  • Able to read, write and speak English

  • Computer Literate


 


EXPERIENCE:



  • 3-5 years’ experience in the field of operation

  • As per skills matrix rating of “O” in your designated area of work


 


COMPETENCIES & SKILLS:


 



  • Manufacturing effectiveness / Accountability

  • Collaboration / Communication with Transparency / Teamwork
