Job Summary

What you’ll do:

• Own the product strategy, roadmap and P&L for Absa’s debit card portfolio.
• Drive product growth across POS, ATM, e-commerce, contactless and digital wallets.
• Lead scheme engagement with Visa/Mastercard, implementing mandates and certifications.
• Ensure regulatory compliance across SARB, PASA, Interchange, PCI and security.
• Oversee EMV, card manufacturing, personalisation, stock, fulfilment and vendor management.
• Improve KPIs: activation, usage, auth-rates, fraud, dispute cycle time and cost-to-serve.
• Champion customer experience across digital and physical journeys.
• Collaborate with Technology, Operations, Fraud, Finance, CX and Compliance.

What you’ll bring:

• 8+ years’ experience in card issuing, payments or product management.
• Strong commercial acumen with proven P&L ownership.
• Expertise in issuing, EMV, processing, tokenisation, wallets, fraud and scheme rules.
• Ability to navigate regulatory and scheme environments.
• Data-driven, customer-centric, delivery-focused mindset.
• Bachelor’s degree required; postgraduate advantageous.
