About the role
We are seeking an experienced and driven Senior Process Engineer to take ownership of the full Product Life Cycle Process, with a strong focus on Hardware and Software development processes within the Engineering department. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving product industrialisation, environmental qualification, engineering governance, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure products transition successfully from development to production-ready status.
This role requires a highly process-driven individual with strong technical leadership capability, proven experience in product development environments, and the ability to coordinate cross-functional engineering and manufacturing activities across all phases of the product lifecycle.
Qualifications and experience
- Minimum BEng Degree in Electronic or Industrial Engineering.
- Relevant project management and product lifecycle process development experience will be advantageous.
- Minimum 4 years; Preferably 8 years’ experience in a design and manufacturing environment.
- Proven track record of successfully taking products through the full product development lifecycle to a production-ready state.
- Proven practical experience, preferably in an electronic product development environment, with the ability to operate across development, industrialisation, production support, and product maintenance phases.
- Demonstrated management and leadership capability with the ability to drive change and continuous improvement across engineering processes and workflows, including the full Product Life Cycle Process.
Key technical skills
- Excellent knowledge and practical application of product development and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) processes.
- Strongly process-driven, with the initiative and discipline to define, implement, and continuously improve engineering and industrialisation processes.
- Very good knowledge of modern production processes and manufacturing procedures.
- Proven knowledge and hands-on experience in product environmental requirements management, including standards such as MIL-STD and/or DO-160.
- Strong understanding and practical implementation of product development and concurrent engineering (product industrialisation) processes and formal reviews.
- Demonstrated drive to build and deepen product knowledge and to extract and apply full Product Life Cycle requirements in industrialisation and production solutions.
Key responsibilities
Product Lifecycle Processes
- Drive and govern the full Product Life Cycle Process across Engineering, Production, and Product Management functions.
- Ensure effective cross-functional execution, product readiness, lifecycle visibility, and controlled product phase management.
Industrialisation Management
- Manage and coordinate industrialisation activities, action plans, and design-for-manufacturability initiatives.
- Ensure products achieve production readiness, schedule adherence, and operational efficiency targets.
Environmental Qualification
- Define, coordinate, and monitor environmental qualification and compliance activities.
- Ensure products meet applicable regulatory, customer, and operational standards while improving product reliability and qualification readiness.
Engineering Governance & Change Control
- Control Engineering Change Processes, technical reviews, and configuration management activities.
- Maintain product integrity, manage risks, and ensure readiness across development, qualification, and production phases.
Continuous Improvement & Production Support
- Lead continuous improvement and structured problem-solving initiatives across engineering and production support activities.
- Improve product quality, process efficiency, operational reliability, and knowledge transfer to production teams.
