Job Description - Student Life Manager (live -in position)
The key responsibilities of the role include:
Student affairs and student well -being.
Management, implementation and reporting on the Student Life Programme,
Maintaining good order in buildings and ensure fair stay in alignment with the House Rules
Collaboration with other staff members to maintain a well -managed building.
Roles and responsibilities
The role takes full responsibility for the wellbeing of the students ensuring that their needs are met and that their issues are addressed and resolved.
Disciplinary Process
Manage disciplinary processes in collaboration with student leadership structures to ensure a respectful community aligned to house rules to ensure a fair stay and good order in the building. Incidents are reported and disciplinary action taken.
Student Life Programme
Address student needs in collaboration with the Student Life Intern (SLI) Team through a building specific Student Life Programme.
Sport programme to participate in formal and informal sports tournaments and leagues
Social programme through events, clubs and communities and utilise these to create social cohesion, manage diversity and include minority' groups represented in the student body.
Academic support programme. Implement academic programme events to enhance academic success.
Emotional and wellbeing programme - address needs through the wellbeing framework to support students and run awareness/educational campaigns.
Community engagement programme - manage engagements to allow students to impact local communities.
Career programme - manage programmes to prepare students for careers after graduation.
Leadership programme - present leadership training and development for students involved in student life structures.
Welcoming Week programme – for first years and newcomers to be integrated into the community and adjust to university life.
Head up the Student Life Intern Team
Run annual appointment process, implement systems for positions, SLI meetings, goal setting, programme planning and managing budgets, individual guidance and monitoring the success of the programme. Oversee management of budget allocated to the Student Life Programme.
Building community
Responsible for creating a living environment to augment the learning environment of the students. This entails upholding the building culture of respect and inclusivity where students belong, feel connected and contribute.
Student support
Engage with students supporting them emotionally, ensuring proper referral to professional services. Personal student needs include all safety, medical, mental and other personal incidents.
Interacting with parents and/or guardians relating to the above concerns.
Communication
Manage and implement efficient on -site communication. Announce and convey messages, student life programme details and provide opportunities for students to interact with management and with each other. This includes communication of operational matters in the building regarding students.Handle all student related and parent inquiries.
Security support
Assist the building security with incidents on site and support security after hours.
General responsibilities
Work with the management and staff of the building to ensure a customer -centred, well -managed building — this includes active management and involvement in customer relationship management.
Crisis management, and ensuring all policies and procedures are followed including written reports, implemented actions and issues reviewed.

Education qualification or experience
NPO qualification or experience
Student or youth empowerment qualification or experience
First Aid and other relevant certificates will be beneficial
