Position Overview

Our client is seeking a reliable and experienced Swimming Pool Technician to provide cleaning, maintenance and basic fault-finding services at customers’ properties.

The successful candidate must understand swimming pool maintenance, water testing, chemical treatment and basic pool equipment. This is a hands-on position that requires physical fitness, attention to detail and a professional approach when dealing with customers.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain residential and commercial swimming pools.
  
• Test swimming pool water and accurately interpret the results.
  
• Balance pool water by adding the correct chemicals and dosages.
  
• Handle, store and use swimming pool chemicals safely.
  
• Diagnose common pool water and equipment problems.
  
• Inspect and maintain swimming pool pumps and filters.
  
• Complete filter sand changes when required.
  
• Perform general maintenance on swimming pool equipment.
  
• Identify equipment faults and report any repairs or replacement parts required.
  
• Check pools for leaks, damage or other maintenance concerns.
  
• Complete daily job cards and service reports accurately.
  
• Record work completed, chemicals used and faults identified.
  
• Communicate with the office and team through WhatsApp.
  
• Provide friendly, respectful and professional service to customers.
  
• Keep company vehicles, tools and equipment clean and organised.
  
• Ensure all work is completed to the required quality and safety standards.
  
• Follow assigned schedules, routes and company procedures.
  

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

• At least two years’ previous swimming pool cleaning and maintenance experience is preferred.
  
• Practical knowledge of swimming pool chemicals and water testing would be advantageous.
  
• Basic knowledge of pumps, filters and general swimming pool equipment.
  
• A valid South African driver’s licence is essential.
  
• Able to read and write and complete basic job cards and service reports.
  
• Able to communicate and receive work instructions via WhatsApp.
  
• Physically fit and comfortable performing manual work.
  
• Comfortable working outdoors in different weather conditions.
  
• Able to handle swimming pool chemicals safely and responsibly.
  
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  
• Willing to learn and follow company procedures.
  
• Available to start immediately.
