Technical Business Analyst

The Opportunity:

BAforHire.com is growing its network of Technical Business Analysts. If you are someone who is energised by client engagements where your expertise unlocks value and creates measurable impact, this role was built for you.

Your initial engagements will be with clients operating in the Financial Services, Financial Planning, and Investment Management space. These are businesses that prioritise automation, process improvement, and intelligent digital delivery.

Purpose of the Role:

Within each client engagement, you will work closely with cross -functional teams, including developers, project managers, and business stakeholders, to deliver enterprise projects and meaningful operational improvements.

You bring a deep understanding of investment platforms and financial products, and you apply that understanding to requirements gathering, process analysis, and solution design. A significant focus of this role is the automation of business processes using AI, robotics, and tools such as Python. 

Across your client engagements, your responsibilities will span four dimensions. In practice, this means:

Process

• Engaging with business stakeholders to understand, document, and map existing processes, workflows, and data flows
  
• Identifying manual, repetitive, and error -prone processes and quantifying the cost and ROI of automating them
  
• Translating complex business problems into clear functional and non -functional requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria
  
• Designing future -state processes that leverage automation, AI capabilities, and low -code and no -code tooling
  
• Developing test plans, coordinating UAT, and ensuring solutions meet all specified requirements before deployment
  

Technology

• Contributing to the end -to -end project lifecycle for automation and AI implementations
  
• Collaborating with engineers and data scientists to create practical, scalable technical solution architectures
  
• Ensuring all developed solutions are robust, well -documented, and compliant with operational risk and control frameworks
  
• Staying current with trends and regulatory changes in the financial services space and applying those insights to client engagements
  

People

• Serving as the primary point of contact between business users and technical delivery teams throughout each engagement
  
• Presenting business cases, process maps, and solution designs to audiences including senior leadership
  
• Managing stakeholder expectations and proactively communicating progress, risks, and dependencies
  
• Building and maintaining trusted relationships with client stakeholders across all levels of the business
  

Finance

• Applying a working understanding of investment products, financial instruments, and trading systems to every engagement
  
• Quantifying the ROI and total cost of ownership impact of proposed solutions before recommending them
  
• Ensuring all solution designs and implementations comply with relevant financial regulations and internal risk and control frameworks
  
• Monitoring the financial performance and benefit realisation of implemented solutions over time
  
• Contributing meaningfully to commercial conversations with client stakeholders, connecting operational improvements to financial outcomes
  

Requirements

Background / Experience Requirements:

• 5+ years of proven Business Analysis experience within financial services
  
• A Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required
  
• Demonstrated experience on platform development projects within an investment or financial services environment is strongly preferred
  
• Certification in Business Analysis is advantageous
  
• A track record of delivering high -quality results in a fast -paced, performance -driven environment
  
  

1. Financial services fluency. You have a solid understanding of investment products, trading systems, and financial instruments. You do not need to be briefed on the basics before you can contribute.

2. Business analysis depth. You can lead requirements gathering, process mapping, and solution design across complex, multi -stakeholder environments. Experience with both Agile and Waterfall methodologies is required.

3. Automation and technical capability. You have contributed to or led automation and AI -driven projects. Familiarity with Python, SQL, RPA tools, APIs, and data visualisation platforms such as Power BI or Tableau is a strong advantage.

4. Stakeholder engagement. You communicate with clarity and confidence at every level, from frontline operations through to executive leadership. You manage expectations honestly and proactively.
