Role overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior Copywriter to join a Johannesburg-based creative team for an initial one-month contract. The successful candidate will develop distinctive concepts and persuasive copy across multiple brands, audiences and communication channels.

This is an office-based role for a confident, hands-on writer who can move comfortably between conceptual campaign work and detailed execution. The candidate must be able to work quickly, collaborate closely with art directors and maintain excellent accuracy under tight deadlines. Extension beyond the first month will depend on the quality, consistency and volume of output delivered.

Key responsibilities

• Develop original campaign concepts in response to creative and strategic briefs.
  
• Partner with art directors to create integrated ideas and executions.
  
• Write clear, persuasive and engaging copy across digital, social, print, video, presentations and other relevant channels.
  
• Develop campaign headlines, scripts, body copy, social content, calls to action and supporting messaging.
  
• Adapt tone of voice appropriately across brands, audiences and platforms.
  
• Translate complex information into clear and accessible communication.
  
• Present and motivate creative concepts to internal teams and clients.
  
• Respond constructively to feedback and revise work efficiently.
  
• Proofread and edit copy for grammar, accuracy, consistency and brand alignment.
  
• Manage multiple briefs, revisions and deadlines simultaneously.
  
• Contribute actively to brainstorming, reviews and creative problem-solving.
  
• Support or guide junior writers where required.
