This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a YouTube Technical Content Creator based in South Africa.
This is a rare opportunity for a highly technical, camera-ready creator to become the public face of a developer-focused SaaS product through high-impact video content. You will build, demo, and present real software in action, creating short-form, long-form, and webinar content that resonates with developers and technical audiences. The role blends hands-on engineering, content creation, and storytelling, requiring someone who can both build working technical demos and clearly explain them on camera. You will own the full YouTube presence, shaping content strategy, execution, and cadence while maintaining a strong technical standard across all output. Working in a fast-moving, AI-native environment, you will turn product updates and industry trends into compelling, educational videos. This position is ideal for a technically strong, consistent, and confident on-camera creator who thrives at the intersection of engineering and content.
Accountabilities
- Own and operate the technical YouTube channel, including strategy, content planning, and execution across shorts, long-form videos, and webinars.
- Build and demonstrate real working software using APIs and developer tools, ensuring all showcased demos are functional and technically accurate.
- Script, record, and deliver engaging technical videos, or direct and oversee editing to ensure high-quality final output.
- Translate product updates, API features, and industry trends into clear, educational, and engaging video content.
- Establish and maintain a consistent publishing cadence, ensuring regular content delivery and audience engagement.
- Represent the product publicly as the technical face of the company across video platforms and developer audiences.
- Identify opportunities to feature the product in comparisons, reviews, and developer-focused “best-of” content.
- Ensure all technical claims made in content are accurate, reproducible, and defensible in real-time.
- Continuously iterate on content performance based on audience feedback, analytics, and platform insights.
- Maintain a high-quality production setup, including professional-grade audio, video, and recording environment.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a technical content creator, developer advocate, or engineer with on-camera presence.
- Strong ability to build and demonstrate real software using APIs, SDKs, or developer tools.
- Portfolio or links to at least two on-camera technical videos where you built and demonstrated the product or system shown.
- Native-level or C2 English proficiency with excellent verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Comfortable being on camera with a clear, engaging, and natural delivery style.
- Strong technical background, with the ability to understand, implement, and explain complex systems.
- Experience creating content for developers, APIs, SaaS platforms, or technical audiences is highly preferred.
- Strong video production skills, including scripting, recording, and/or editing (or ability to direct editing effectively).
- Ability to work independently, manage your own schedule, and consistently deliver content without external pressure.
- Strong ownership mindset with the ability to defend technical claims and ensure content accuracy.
