Job Description - HR Intern


 


About the role


To provide efficient and accurate Human Resources administrative support across the employee lifecycle, ensuring compliance with labour legislation, company policies, and HR best practices. This role supports HR operations, reporting, employee services, and office coordination to help the business unit manage people effectively.


 


Qualifications and experience:



  • Degree in Human Resource Management

  • 0–1 years’ experience in an HR administrative or support role

  • Experience working with HR systems (e.g. SuccessFactors, ESS, ATOSS or similar)

  • Exposure to South African labour legislation and HR practices

  • Experience in a corporate or technical/engineering environment is advantageous


 


Key technical skills:



  • Knowledge of South African labour laws and HR compliance requirements

  • HR administration across the employee lifecycle (e.g. employee contracts, benefits, leave, records and online filing)

  • Reporting and HR analytics (e.g. HR statistics, headcount, leave reports)

  • Document and records management with strong attention to detail

  • Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) proficiency

  • Office coordination and general administrative support

  • Stakeholder communication and customer service orientation


 


Key responsibilities:


HR administration and employee lifecycle management


Administer HR processes and maintain employee records across the lifecycle to ensure accurate, efficient, and compliant people management.


 


Employee services and stakeholder support


Deliver HR services and respond to employee and stakeholder queries to ensure a professional, responsive, and supportive HR function.


 


HR Systems, Data Management and Reporting


Capture, maintain, and analyse HR data using HR systems to ensure data integrity and provide meaningful workforce insights.


 


Compliance and Governance


Apply HR policies and South African labour legislation to ensure all HR activities meet legal and organisational compliance standards.


Administrative Coordination and Operational Support.


Provide office coordination and administrative support to enable smooth HR operations and improve overall efficiency.
