Business Law Intern - Contracts & Legal Advisory

EIC (Experience Internship Canada) is looking for motivated candidates to join its teams as a Business Law Intern – Contracts & Legal Advisory.

You will contribute legal research and preparatory work relating to EIC contracts and international activities. You will support operational teams under the supervision of the designated legal supervisor or counsel.

This internship is based in Barcelona, Spain.

You will work in an international professional environment that values collaboration, initiative and learning through practical work. A supervisor will help you understand priorities and take on responsibilities as your skills develop.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Legal research: research business law questions raised by the teams.
• Contracts: help prepare and review drafts under supervision.
• Summaries: draft memos outlining applicable provisions and points requiring review.
• Monitoring: track developments relevant to business activities and contractual relationships.
• Organization: maintain records and track versions, deadlines and approvals.
• Coordination: prepare discussions with external counsel and gather supporting documents.
• Issue spotting: identify contractual points of concern and refer them to the appropriate supervisor.
• Internal guidance: contribute to approved practical resources that help teams carry out their work.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

• You are studying law, ideally with an interest in business or contract law.
• You understand legal research methods and memo writing.
• You pay attention to the relevant jurisdiction and can identify the limits of an analysis.
• You work discreetly and accurately and respect approval procedures.
• You are comfortable communicating in English. French is an asset for collaboration with French-speaking colleagues and audiences.
• You can work collaboratively, seek feedback and suggest practical improvements.
