Data Science & AI Intern

EIC (Experience Internship Canada) is looking for motivated candidates to join its teams as a Data Science & AI Intern .

You will contribute to data science and artificial intelligence projects applied to EIC activities. You will explore classification, extraction and decision-support methods while measuring their practical usefulness.

International professional experience in Barcelona.

You will work in an international professional environment that values collaboration, initiative and learning through practical work. A supervisor will help you understand priorities and take on responsibilities as your skills develop.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Scoping: translate a business problem into a measurable objective and define an evaluation dataset.
• Data preparation: clean authorized datasets and document their origins.
• Exploration: investigate distributions, biases and features relevant to modeling.
• Modeling: develop prototypes and compare them with a simple baseline.
• Generative AI: experiment with extraction or document-search solutions using approved data.
• Evaluation: measure accuracy, error patterns and the cost of different approaches.
• Integration: work with developers to make prototypes usable by the teams.
• Reporting: present results, limitations and potential improvements.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

• You are studying data science, AI, applied mathematics or computer science.
• You have a foundation in Python, statistics and machine learning.
• You understand evaluation principles and the risks of data leakage.
• You enjoy methodical experimentation and documenting results transparently.
• You are comfortable communicating in English. French is an asset for collaboration with French-speaking colleagues and audiences.
• You can work collaboratively, seek feedback and suggest practical improvements.
