Software Development Intern

EIC (Experience Internship Canada) is looking for motivated candidates to join its teams as a Software Development Intern .

You will help design and improve software tools that support EIC teams. You will turn operational needs into reliable, maintainable and documented solutions.

This internship is based in Barcelona, Spain.

You will work in an international professional environment that values collaboration, initiative and learning through practical work. A supervisor will help you understand priorities and take on responsibilities as your skills develop.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Functional analysis: understand the tasks to improve and define the expected outcomes.
• Design: help break down features and define software components.
• Development: write and improve modules that address internal needs.
• Automation: develop scripts that reduce repetitive work and make processing more reliable.
• Testing: create appropriate checks and reproduce defects to support troubleshooting.
• Integration: support exchanges between applications, databases and existing services.
• Maintenance: investigate incidents and propose fixes with guidance from your supervisor.
• Documentation: write user instructions and share technical decisions with the team.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

• You are studying computer science, software engineering or information systems.
• You understand at least one programming language and the fundamentals of structured programming.
• You are familiar with Git and interested in testing and software design.
• You are detail-oriented, curious and able to explain your technical reasoning.
• You are comfortable communicating in English. French is an asset for collaboration with French-speaking colleagues and audiences.
• You can work collaboratively, seek feedback and suggest practical improvements.
