About the Department/Company

Alvotech is a fully integrated specialty biopharmaceutical company focused exclusively on the development and manufacturing of high-quality biosimilar medicines.

The Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) department plays a critical role in ensuring a safe, healthy, and compliant workplace across Alvotech's operations. The team works closely with employees, managers, contractors, and external partners to maintain high safety standards, promote a strong safety culture, and support continuous improvement initiatives throughout the organization.

We are currently looking for a motivated and proactive professional to join our team in the following position:
 

Overview of Job Role

Alvotech is looking to hire an EHS Specialist to join our team in Stockholm, Sweden. This is an exciting opportunity for a health and safety professional who is passionate about creating safe and compliant work environments while supporting business growth and operational excellence.

In this role, you will support the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of health and safety programs across the organization. Working closely with the EHS Manager, you will provide guidance on safety standards and practices, contribute to compliance activities, and help foster a strong culture of health and safety throughout Alvotech.
 

Scope and Responsibility

  • Support the implementation and maintenance of health and safety programs and initiatives

  • Carry out assigned EHS activities and tasks under the direction of the EHS Manager

  • Support the planning and delivery of H&S training programs and risk assessments

  • Provide guidance to employees, contractors, vendors, and visitors on health and safety requirements

  • Advise on safe working practices in laboratory and manufacturing environments

  • Participate in and occasionally lead internal audits, inspections, and compliance activities

  • Support incident investigations and follow-up activities as required

  • Assist in identifying and implementing best practices and continuous improvements within EHS

  • Contribute to the development and improvement of procedures, processes, and projects

  • Collaborate with colleagues and management to resolve issues and promote a positive safety culture

  • Support additional EHS-related activities as needed
     

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related field

  • Solid knowledge of health and safety principles, international standards, and local regulations

  • Ability to work independently with routine tasks while effectively managing occasional non-routine challenges

  • Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills

  • Ability to provide practical health and safety guidance across a range of operational environments

  • Experience working in laboratory, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, manufacturing, or other regulated environments is preferred

  • Experience conducting risk assessments, audits, or safety inspections is an advantage

  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken

  • Proactive, solution-oriented, and detail-focused mindset
