We are now looking for a Thermal Design Engineer to join Ericsson's global Thermal Design organization. You will become part of a highly skilled team of thermal specialists supporting product development across Ericsson's product portfolio. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams in Sweden and our global R&D centers, you will play a key role in advancing innovative thermal-management technologies for next-generation telecommunications products.

What you will do:

• Own and drive thermal design activities across the product development lifecycle, delivering advanced thermal-management solutions for electronic products and systems from concept evaluation through product release.


• Perform CFD simulations and other relevant modeling approaches to support product design and technology development.


• Plan, execute, and interpret thermal measurements and validation activities to ensure design robustness and performance.


• Collaborate closely with thermal designers, product development teams, and technology experts across Ericsson's global R&D organization to develop and optimize thermal solutions.


• Analyze and present numerical and experimental results to technical stakeholders and management.


• Support root-cause investigations, task forces, and customer-related thermal issues when required.


• Drive continuous improvement of thermal tools, methodologies, and design processes.
  
  

The skills you bring:

• B.Sc or M.Sc´s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Engineering, Engineering Physics, Applied Mathematics, Computational Science, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.


• Strong understanding of heat transfer, fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and numerical methods.


• Experience with CFD simulations using tools such as Celsius EC, FloTHERM, Fluent, Discovery, Icepak, Star-CCM+, COMSOL, or equivalent.


• Experience with computational design methodologies, including design exploration, parametric optimization, topology optimization, and data-driven engineering approaches.


• Experience leveraging scripting, automation, and AI-assisted engineering workflows using Python, MATLAB, or similar technologies is considered an advantage.


• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate simulation results into design improvements.


• Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating across disciplines, organizations, and cultures.


• Excellent communication and presentation skills in English, both written and spoken.


• Strong curiosity, innovation mindset, and willingness to challenge conventional engineering approaches.
