Presales Solutions Engineer IP Video Surveillance & Video Management Software

Position Summary

We are seeking a technically skilled and commercially minded Presales Solutions Engineer to support our sales team in designing and presenting video surveillance and security solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of IP cameras, video management software (VMS), networking, and integrated security systems and enjoy working directly with customers, consultants, and partners to develop solutions that meet business and technical requirements.

This role focuses on presales activities, including solution design, demonstrations, technical consultations, proof-of-concepts, and proposal support. The successful candidate will act as the bridge between customers, sales teams, and technical delivery teams.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Presales Support

• Support the sales team during customer meetings and technical discussions.
• Analyze customer requirements and develop appropriate surveillance and security solutions.
• Create solution proposals, technical specifications, and system architectures.
• Deliver product presentations, demonstrations, and workshops to customers and partners.
• Respond to technical questions during the sales process.

Solution Design

• Design IP video surveillance solutions based on customer requirements and industry best practices.
• Recommend suitable cameras, recording platforms, storage solutions, and VMS platforms.
• Produce system layouts, bill of materials (BOMs), and high-level network designs.
• Assist with solution sizing, bandwidth calculations, and storage estimations.
• Ensure proposed solutions are scalable, secure, and cost-effective.

Technical Consulting

• Provide expert advice on video surveillance technologies and industry trends.
• Support consultants, system integrators, and end users with technical guidance.
• Assist customers in evaluating different technology options and architectures.
• Participate in proof-of-concept and pilot projects.

Product Demonstrations & Training

• Conduct live product demonstrations and customer workshops.
• Deliver technical training to partners and customers.
• Prepare presentation materials and technical sales documentation.
• Support marketing events, webinars, and trade shows as the technical expert.

Vendor & Partner Engagement

• Work closely with manufacturers and technology partners.
• Maintain knowledge of new products, software releases, and industry developments.
• Assist in obtaining technical certifications and partner accreditations.

Key Success Metrics

• Technical win rate on sales opportunities.
• Quality and accuracy of solution designs.
• Customer satisfaction during the sales cycle.
• Successful completion of demonstrations and proof-of-concepts.
• Revenue contribution through presales support.
• Technical certification achievements.

Education

• Degree or Diploma in Information Technology, Telecommunications, Electronics, Security Systems, or a related field.
• Equivalent industry experience will also be considered.

Experience

• Minimum 3 years of experience in:
  • Presales engineering
  • Solution architecture
  • Security technology
  • Video surveillance systems
• Experience presenting technical solutions to customers and partners.
• Experience supporting sales opportunities and bid responses.

Technical Skills

Strong knowledge of:

• IP cameras and surveillance technologies
• Video Management Software (VMS)
• ONVIF standards
• CCTV system architecture
• TCP/IP networking
• VLANs, PoE, routing, and switching
• Server and storage technologies
• Video analytics and AI-based surveillance solutions

Experience with one or more of:

• Bosch BVMS
• Milestone XProtect
• Genetec Security Center
• Axis Camera Station

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with access control or integrated security platforms.
• Understanding of cybersecurity principles for connected security systems.
• Experience with cloud and hybrid surveillance solutions.
• Knowledge of AI analytics, license plate recognition, and object detection technologies.
