Quality Inspector Mechanical Static/Rotating

• TECHNICAL SCOPE
  • Static equipment, vessels and packaged units
  • Pumps, compressors and rotating equipment
  • Equipment setting, leveling, alignment and preservation
  • HVAC equipment, ductwork installation, supports and interfaces
  • HVAC cleanliness, insulation interfaces, duct leakage/pressure testing and air-system testing/balancing records
  • Mechanical completion, punch and turnover
• KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Execute and document inspections against approved ITPs, drawings, vendor manuals and specifications
  • Verify receipt condition, preservation, installation, leveling/alignment and final acceptance of mechanical equipment
  • Inspect HVAC/ducting installation including supports, joints, interfaces, cleanliness and insulation readiness
  • Witness specified duct leakage/pressure testing and review testing, adjusting and balancing (TAB) results against approved procedures and acceptance criteria
  • Raise QOCs/NCRs, verify corrective actions and support progressive handover readiness
  • Coordinate with Construction, Engineering, contractors, vendors and Client QC
• QUALITY PRINCIPLES & PROCESSES
  • Apply the NCR/QOC lifecycle: identification, containment, disposition, technical review, root cause, corrective action, effectiveness verification and closure
  • Understand ITP Hold/Witness/Review/Surveillance points, inspection notification, objective evidence, traceability and acceptance records
  • Provide quality reporting covering activity, rejections, open/aged issues, trends, critical risks, actions and look-ahead
  • Escalate repeat, systemic, overdue or high-risk quality issues through the EPCM quality organization
  • Support punch management, progressive dossier completion and handover readiness
• EPCM DELIVERY EXPECTATIONS
  • Maintain professional independence and base acceptance decisions on approved requirements and objective evidence
  • Coordinate effectively with Contractor, Construction, Engineering, Client Quality and discipline inspectors
  • Participate in relevant Kick-Off, Pre-Inspection and recurring Contractor Quality meetings; prepare evidence and close assigned actions
  • Apply a risk-based approach to critical, irreversible and high-rework activities.
  • Promote prevention, early intervention, lessons learned and continuous improvement
  • Ensure quality records accurately represent executed work and support system completion and turnover

Essential Qualifications and Education:

• Mechanical engineering degree/diploma or equivalent technical qualification
• Minimum 5 years relevant mechanical QC/inspection experience on industrial EPC/EPCM projects
• Demonstrated static and rotating equipment installation, alignment and preservation experience
• Practical ducting/HVAC systems installation and testing experience is a strong advantage
• Ability to interpret equipment drawings, HVAC layouts, vendor manuals, tolerances, ITPs and inspection/test records

EU / INTERNATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

• Relevant mechanical inspection/alignment training is advantageous
• Recognized HVAC inspection, commissioning or TAB training/certification (e.g. Eurovent, NEBB, AABC or equivalent) is a strong advantage
• Knowledge of applicable HVAC/ductwork requirements such as EN 12599, EN 12237, EN 1507 and project-specified SMACNA requirements is advantageous
