Senior Quality Inspector Welding NDT

Job Overview:

Provide specialist welding-engineering, welding-inspection and NDT QC oversight for piping and mechanical works at site and/or fabrication-shop locations.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

TECHNICAL SCOPE
• Welding surveillance and inspection
• WPS/PQR/WPQR/WPQ compliance
• Welder/operator qualification and traceability
• NDT coordination, review and acceptance
• Repair welding and NCR disposition verification
• Welding/NDT dossier and turnover records

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Verify welding activities against approved WPSs, drawings, ITPs and project specifications.
• Confirm welder/operator qualifications, consumable control, joint preparation, preheat/interpass controls and weld traceability.
• Perform visual inspection and review/coordinate NDT in accordance with approved procedures and acceptance criteria.
• Verify repair welding, NCR dispositions, corrective actions and final acceptance evidence.
• Maintain welding/NDT traceability, weld maps and progressive dossier completeness.
• Provide technical welding input to contractors, Construction, Engineering and Client QC; escalate systemic welding/NDT concerns.
• Participate in Kick-Off Meetings, welding PIMs and contractor quality reviews.
 

Essenetial Qualifications and Education:

ESSENTIAL CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS  |  International EPCM level

EDUCATION
Engineering degree or recognized higher technical qualification in Welding, Materials, Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline.

EXPERIENCE
• Minimum 5 years relevant welding/NDT QC experience in industrial construction or fabrication.
• Proven experience with process piping / mechanical fabrication, welding surveillance, NDT coordination and repair control.
• Experience on major EPC/EPCM projects and multi-code environments strongly preferred.
