Underwriter Financial Lines - HDI Global

To support our continued growth, HDI Global Sweden in Stockholm is looking to add a Senior Underwriter Financial Lines to the team.

This is a role for an experienced professional who values technical underwriting excellence, and who also takes an interest in the wider commercial context in which decisions are made.

The role
You will hold responsibility for larger and more complex Financial Lines business, including programme structures and selected key relationships.

The core of the role is high-quality underwriting – assessing risk, structuring solutions and contributing to a disciplined and well-balanced portfolio.

You will operate in an international environment, working with colleagues, partners and broker networks across markets. This requires both a strong technical foundation and the ability to navigate differing perspectives and structures in a global context.

Alongside this, we are interested in individuals who engage in discussions around how business is approached and prioritised, and who are open to exploring additional opportunities where relevant. This may include programmes, partnerships or other structures, although this is not a predefined remit but rather a direction of interest over time.

• Underwrite and manage large Financial Lines risks and programmes (e.g. D&O, PI, Crime)

• Take a leading role in selected complex placements and structured deals

• Maintain and develop key broker relationships, both locally and internationally

• Contribute to the overall portfolio quality, balance and profitability

• Participate in discussions around business priorities, opportunities and market developments

• Provide input, where relevant, on possible new structures or approaches to business

You are an established underwriter with a strong technical foundation and a well-developed sense for the commercial aspects of the business.

You bring:

• Extensive experience within Financial Lines underwriting

• A track record in handling larger risks, programmes or structured business

• Familiarity with broker-led markets and international placements

You are also someone who:

• Exercises sound judgement and operates with a high level of professional integrity

• Takes an interest in how business can evolve, without losing focus on core underwriting discipline

• Builds credibility through consistency, expertise and relationships in an international setting
