This Position reports to:
R&D Team Lead
You will be part of Powertrain & Digitalization team at ABB Corporate Research in Västerås, Sweden. At Corporate Research we lead the innovation within ABB and our task is to ensure ABB's technology competitiveness now and in the future. We work in close collaboration with other research centers, our business areas: Motion, Process Automation, Robotics & Discrete Automation and Electrification, as well academic and industrial partners. In our creative and highly skilled team we develop, design, build and test new concepts and prototypes of physical and digital powertrains consisting of electric energy source, electrical motor, electric drive, and a selected application.

Location: On site ABB Corporate Research in Västerås, Sweden or Hybrid
Your responsibilities
Support activities related to the operation and performance of power electronics, electric machines, or electric drives.
Perform thermal, electrical, or mechanical evaluations using established methods and available simulation tools.
Run simulations in relevant software environments and benchmark the obtained results.
Assist with modeling tasks, including parameter extraction, interpretation of trends, and basic validation work.
Contribute to data processing and software programming tasks.
Prepare figures, summaries, and documentation, and help maintain internal technical material.
Collaborate with researchers and engineers in ongoing development and investigation activities.
Your background:
Willingness to develop programming skills and learn simulation or analysis tools.
Motivation to learn new methods and apply engineering concepts in practical settings.
Ability to work collaboratively in a research and development environment.
Clear communication and proactive attitude when working with supervisors and team members.
