About the Opportunity

An established organisation in Lucerne is looking for an experienced Microsoft Systems Engineer to join its internal infrastructure team.

This is a broad engineering position covering modern Microsoft workplace technologies, Windows infrastructure and enterprise systems. Depending on your experience, you'll have the opportunity to focus more heavily on either workplace engineering or server and application infrastructure.

You'll join a sizeable technology environment undergoing continued modernisation, with plenty of scope to improve platforms, automate processes and contribute to future infrastructure architecture.

Main Responsibilities

• Engineer and maintain Microsoft workplace and server infrastructure across a complex enterprise environment


• Develop and optimise Windows-based platforms, services and associated infrastructure


• Work with technologies including Azure, Intune, Active Directory, Group Policy and Windows Server


• Automate infrastructure and operational processes using PowerShell


• Support the continued development of endpoint management, software distribution and deployment processes


• Contribute to infrastructure security alongside dedicated cybersecurity specialists


• Support virtualised environments and the continued modernisation of infrastructure platforms


• Take ownership of complex 2nd and 3rd level engineering topics


• Plan and deliver infrastructure changes, rollouts and technical projects


• Contribute to standardisation, automation and the implementation of new infrastructure concepts

Your Profile

• Several years of professional experience within Microsoft Systems Engineering, Workplace Engineering or enterprise infrastructure


• Strong knowledge of Microsoft technologies such as Windows Server, Active Directory and Group Policy


• Experience with Azure and modern Microsoft endpoint or workplace technologies such as Intune


• Strong PowerShell scripting and automation skills


• Experience with enterprise client management, infrastructure operations or application platforms


• Knowledge of virtualisation technologies such as VMware is advantageous


• Experience with technologies such as MECM/SCCM, IIS, SQL Server or enterprise backup solutions would be beneficial


• Understanding of modern infrastructure security and IT service management principles


• Relevant IT education at HF/FH level or equivalent professional experience


• Structured, responsible and solution-oriented working style


• Very good German and good English
