About the Opportunity

An established Swiss technology organisation is looking for an experienced Software Architect C# / .NET to take architectural responsibility across a diverse and business-critical software landscape.

This is much broader than a traditional development position. You'll help shape the architecture behind a combination of desktop and planning applications, web and mobile solutions and cloud services, while influencing technology choices, engineering standards and the future direction of the wider software environment.

You'll remain close to the engineering teams while taking ownership across software architecture, quality, development methodology and Continuous Integration.

Main Responsibilities

• Design and continuously develop modern, maintainable software architectures across multiple platforms


• Take architectural responsibility across a varied portfolio of software applications


• Define and maintain software engineering guidelines and development standards


• Evaluate and select appropriate technologies and frameworks


• Drive high standards around software quality, maintainability and scalability


• Maintain and further develop the Continuous Integration environment


• Collaborate closely with software engineers, Product Management and other technical stakeholders


• Help shape the future direction of the wider application and system landscape


• Contribute proactively within cross-functional and agile engineering teams

Your Profile

• Professional experience as a Software Architect or in a senior software engineering position with significant architectural responsibility


• Strong background in C# and .NET


• Experience designing modern, maintainable software architectures


• Broad understanding of software engineering technologies, frameworks and development practices


• Strong appreciation for software quality and sustainable engineering


• Experience with Continuous Integration and modern development processes


• Experience working within agile software development environments


• Ability to make architectural decisions collaboratively rather than operating purely at a conceptual level


• Relevant higher education in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a comparable discipline


• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills


• Strong German and English
