As a Statistics and Data Science Specialist at Nestlé Research, your mission is to apply advanced statistics and data science to accelerate scientific discovery and innovation across our product portfolio. You’ll make a difference by collaborating closely with food scientists, product developers, process engineers, sensory teams, and project teams. How you’ll make an impact as a Statistics and Data Science Specialist

• Designing robust lab and pilot experiments that generate reliable evidence and accelerate scientific progress.


• Analysing complex experimental data to uncover actionable insights, quantify uncertainty, and strengthen decision-making.


• Collaborating across scientific and technical teams to refine hypotheses and integrate data-driven thinking into innovation projects.


• Translating statistical outputs into clear recommendations that guide formulation, process, and product development choices.


• Building visualisations and models that make complex findings accessible to diverse stakeholders and project teams.


• Driving innovation by applying advanced analytics to support better products, smarter decisions, and faster learning cycles.
  
  

What will make you successful

• Bringing a Ph.D. or Master’s degree in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or Data Science.


• Applying hands-on experience in mathematics-based data collection methodologies to generate robust experimental data.


• Using hands-on expertise in statistical inference, statistical modelling techniques, optimization algorithms, and machine learning techniques to solve scientific challenges.


• Bringing proficiency in Python programming, with knowledge of R as a plus, and proven experience in data-driven modelling for product design, particularly in food or related consumer products, as a plus.


• Communicating fluently in English.

• Bringing collaboration, fresh thinking, bold questions, respect, and a positive, wellbeing-oriented mindset.
