Cloud Operations Senior Expert

Act as the primary resolver for incidents and service requests related to storage and backup systems; provide secondary support for Windows/Linux servers and virtualization platforms. Perform daily operations in Veeam/Kasten, Zerto, NetBackup, Backup Exec, Data Domain and Exagrid environments to back up, recover and archive data; coordinate with other teams to diagnose and resolve incidents and support restoration activities. Ensure compatibility and correct integration of backup systems with existing systems. Manage backup schedules and retention policies to guarantee timely execution and regulatory/compliance adherence. Execute file- and system-level restores as required and provide root cause analysis for failures. Collaborate with vendors and contractors to evaluate, implement and integrate new backup platforms; inspect and validate vendor work against specifications and quality standards. Troubleshoot backup-related issues across multiple operating systems (Windows, Unix/Linux) and hypervisors. Evaluate and apply software/firmware updates and security patches in line with change controls. Work with business and application owners to capture requirements and provide infrastructure support for enterprise applications. Provide 24/7 support coverage as required (shift work and on-call rotation). Design, configure and maintain Backup infrastructures (SAN, NAS, object storage) and associated components. Implement and maintain security controls and policies for backup environments to meet industry best practices and company procedures. Bachelor's degree in Electronic, Computer, Telecommunications Engineering, Mathematics, or related field. Minimum 10 years' hands-on experience supporting backup systems in enterprise environments. Strong understanding of cloud concepts (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) and hybrid/multi-cloud architectures. Proven experience with backup platforms such as Veeam/Kasten, Zerto, NetBackup, Backup Exec, Data Domain and Exagrid. Proficiency in SAN, iSCSI and NAS configuration and management. Experience with backup appliances: EMC VNX/VNXe, EMC Data Domain, EMC Clarion, Pure Storage, Huawei Dorado, NetApp, HPE StoreOnce (or equivalent). Familiarity with server hardware platforms such as HPE StoreOnce, EMC DataDomain, Exagrid. Demonstrated experience with block- and file-level data migrations and storage/backup migrations. Ability to monitor and manage high volume backup environments (700-1000 jobs/day), detect failures and take corrective actions. Strong working knowledge of Windows and Unix/Linux server operating systems; familiarity with SQL database basics. Hands-on experience with VMware or other hypervisors to validate backup and migration plans. Experience coordinating with offshore teams for backups and restorations is preferred. Solid troubleshooting, root-cause analysis and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of network and infrastructure security, intrusion detection concepts and data protection best practices. Ability to elicit and document both business and technical requirements. Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal). Strong team player able to perform under pressure with excellent interpersonal skills. Preferred: certifications such as Veeam, Microsoft Server, VMware, NetApp, EMC/HPE storage, AWS/Azure certifications or equivalent. Male candidates (if applicable) must have completed military service. Nice to have : Scripting skills in PowerShell, Python or similar for automation and operational tasks.
