HSE Specialist

Your role and responsibilities

We seek for HSE Specialist who will be able to demonstrate knowledge in ABB in Automation, Local Division Energy Industries in Istanbul location with below qualifications.  

This role will be responsible for contribute to improving Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) performance in the respective organization to ensure an exemplary health and safety culture as well as a clear focus on the environment. Support the business by applying in-depth HSE knowledge to offer solutions and advice. Facilitate delivery of support from the Center of Expertise (CoE) and ensure effective risk management through HSE excellence along ABB’s value chain.

The work model for the role is: hybrid

This role is contributing to the AUEN in Turkiye.
 

Your responsibilities 

• Delivering and deploying HSE training, audit and performance improvement programs to local division, providing analysis of HSE data within area of responsibility, reporting on progress on implementation of sustainability objectives and key performance indicators (KPI) as required 
• Supporting Local Division to operate in compliance with standards and respective legal obligations.  
• Cooperating across functions and with business partners for raising awareness and improving performance to build commitment and credibility for the Local Division
• Contributing to supporting behavioral change and continuous improvement though delivery of training and skill initiatives and specialized support to the local division in line with yearly HSE plan agreed with the global division
• Supporting the sharing of best practice, coordinating reporting on HSE performance and supporting delivery of group audit program 
• Reporting HSE incidents and providing feedbacks on lessons learned and best practice from own unit and across ABB to management and employees 
• Facilitating Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) risks assessment (ABRA) by line management involving site employees i.e., those directly concerned by the hazards and ensures all processes are implemented 
• Support the activities to update and maintain the ISO 45001 – ISO 14001 (contribute to update and maintain the documentations for the Management System). 
   

Your background 

• University Degree in related areas 
• Minimum 3 years of HSE background 
• Experience in Oil, Gas, Chemical, Refining, Power Generation and Water segments would be a plus 
• Very good level of conflict and change management, communication, functional or technical leadership skills 
• Good level of Management system implementations especially ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 
• Previous experience with management of electrical safety, facilities, and contractor safety programs preferred  
• Having a valid driving license and no obstacle for travel 
• Fluent in verbal and written English and native Turkish
