Job Description - Logistics Specialist

Description

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate inbound shipments of raw materials, components and production-related goods to ensure on-time delivery.
Manage import and export documentation in compliance with applicable customs regulations and company procedures.
Coordinate customs clearance activities with customs brokers and relevant authorities.
Prepare, review and maintain shipping, customs and transportation documentation accurately and on time.
Plan and monitor international and intercompany material transfers between manufacturing sites.
Collaborate with suppliers, freight forwarders and logistics service providers to optimize transportation performance.
Maintain close communication with logistics teams across other manufacturing locations to ensure smooth execution of material transfers.
Track shipments proactively and resolve transportation or customs-related issues to minimize operational impact.
Support inventory accuracy by ensuring timely system transactions and proper documentation.
Participate in logistics improvement initiatives aimed at reducing lead times, transportation costs and operational risks.
Ensure compliance with company policies as well as local and international trade regulations.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or Associate Degree in Logistics, International Trade, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or a related field is an asset.

Minimum 3 years of experience in logistics, import/export operations or customs processes within a manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of customs procedures, international transportation and import/export documentation.
Experience in coordinating international shipments and intercompany transfers.
Fluent written and spoken English is mandatory.
Experience with ERP systems (preferably SAP) and Microsoft Office applications.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Knowledge of Incoterms and international trade practices is considered an advantage.
