Job Summary:

FX & Rates is looking for a team player to join the desk and add immediate value to this dynamic unit with an experience in the EM space, ideally in Sub-Saharan Africa and Egypt. You will be reporting into a currency head and trained by the whole team with the aim of managing flow and taking measured risk across a number of different currencies. We are looking for someone who has a lot of energy, enthusiasm and initiative, who can learn on the job and support sales in order to support the entire business.

The G10 FX & Rates desk is a multi-currency, multi product desk which aims to facilitate customer flow in order to grow the FAB franchise. It requires active management to leverage this flow as well as to add alpha through directional positioning of the portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

Managing Risk within the given parameters and in a profitable manner
Pricing Deals with the mentality to win deals and support the business
Contribute to maintaining FAB’s position as a top market maker in the MENA region space
Preparing marketing material and collaborate with distribution
Travelling where necessary
Covering long shifts
Capability of handling large flows/risk
Maintaining a high degree of discipline when trading
Generating trade ideas and writing market updates
Market Counterparties
- How Often: Daily
- Method: Verbal, Writing and in person
- Purpose: provide pricing/market our products and capabilities/execute trades
Internal Customers
- How Often: Regular
- Method: Verbal, Writing and in person
- Purpose: provide pricing/execute trades/give commentary and viewpoint on market conditions
External Customers
- How Often: adhoc basis
- Method: Verbal, Writing and in person
- Purpose: provide support to respective ICC RM in the enhancement of the client relationship

Requirement and Qualification:

Education: Degree level ideally Bsc./BA. Finance/Economics/Science
Experience: Minimum of 3 - 5 Years in markets
Proven track record of teamwork
Proven track record on managing risk effectively and delivering consistent financial performance
Exceptional technical skills and product knowledge
Market Analytical Capabilities (Technical and fundamental)
Excellent numerical skills
Ability to operate at a high level under extreme pressure
Team oriented
Confidentt
Business focus
Presentation skills
Experts excel/spreadsheet skills
Highly numerical
Highly analytical and able to process substantial amounts of information in a timely manner
Technically proficient in excel, numeric and able to build and support trading sheets
Competent teacher
