Automotive Harness Engineer Electrical

Black Pearl Consult is hiring an experienced Automotive Harness Engineer – Electrical to support automotive engineering and vehicle electrical development activities in the UAE.

This opportunity is suited to an engineer with hands-on experience in automotive wiring harness design, vehicle electrical systems, electrical schematics, harness drawings, electrical connections, wire sizing, fuse selection, BOMs and technical documentation.

The successful candidate will work across the harness design and development lifecycle, from electrical definition and design through prototype validation, technical documentation, troubleshooting and coordination with customers, suppliers and internal engineering teams.

About the Role

As an Automotive Harness Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing reliable electrical wiring harnesses for automotive systems.

You will translate vehicle electrical requirements and technical information into practical harness designs, define electrical connections and interfaces, select appropriate wires and circuit protection, prepare engineering documentation, and support prototype validation and implementation.

This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who understands how automotive electrical systems, wiring harnesses and vehicle components work together.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop automotive electrical wiring harnesses according to program and vehicle requirements.
  
  


• Define electrical connections and appropriate interface points within the vehicle using wiring diagrams, schematics and technical data.
  
  


• Develop and maintain harness drawings and related engineering documentation.
  
  


• Perform electrical calculations, including current requirements, wire gauge selection and circuit protection.
  
  


• Support selection of appropriate wires, connectors, terminals, fuses and related electrical components.
  
  


• Prepare and maintain BOMs, specifications, drawings and engineering change documentation.
  
  


• Ensure harness designs comply with applicable automotive standards and customer-specific requirements.
  
  


• Review and validate prototype harnesses against engineering designs and documentation.
  
  


• Support troubleshooting and resolution of harness-related design or implementation issues.
  
  


• Coordinate with customers, suppliers and internal engineering teams regarding technical requirements and design implementation.
  
  


• Participate in engineering and design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of harness designs.
  
  

Requirements

What We Are Looking For

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, Automotive Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  
  


• Hands-on experience in automotive wiring harness design and development.
  
  


• Strong understanding of automotive electrical systems, wiring diagrams and electrical schematics.
  
  


• Ability to perform current calculations, wire sizing and fuse/circuit protection selection.
  
  


• Experience preparing harness drawings, BOMs, specifications and engineering documentation.
  
  


• Experience with CAD tools used for electrical or wiring harness design.
  
  


• Familiarity with automotive electrical standards and customer-specific engineering requirements.
  
  


• Strong attention to detail, structured working style and ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
  
  


• Good written and spoken English communication skills.
