Consultant Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist - Abu Dhabi

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Consultant Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist to join a leading healthcare organization in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing care for children and adolescents with a wide range of mental health and developmental conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments and diagnostic evaluations for children and adolescents.
• Diagnose and manage conditions including ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, behavioral disorders, and other developmental and psychiatric conditions.
• Develop individualized treatment plans incorporating psychotherapy, behavioral interventions, medication management, and family support.
• Assess and manage children and adolescents presenting with acute psychiatric symptoms and behavioral crises.
• Provide ongoing follow-up and monitor treatment response, medication effectiveness, and potential side effects.
• Work closely with parents, caregivers, schools, psychologists, therapists, pediatricians, and other specialists.
• Participate in multidisciplinary assessments and case discussions.
• Provide guidance and education to families regarding mental health, developmental concerns, and treatment options.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure confidentiality and patient safety.
• Contribute to clinical governance, quality improvement, teaching, and professional development.

Requirements

• MBBS/MD or equivalent medical degree.
• Recognized specialist/consultant qualification in Psychiatry, with subspecialty training or significant experience in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry.
• Valid DOH (Department of Health – Abu Dhabi) license/eligibility or eligibility to obtain one.
• Significant post-specialization experience in child and adolescent mental health.
• Strong clinical and communication skills with children, adolescents, and their families.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
