Consultant Maternal Fetal Medicine - Al Ain

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Consultant in Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) to join a leading healthcare provider in Al Ain, UAE. The successful candidate will specialize in the diagnosis and management of high-risk pregnancies, fetal medicine, prenatal diagnosis, and advanced obstetric care while working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the best maternal and fetal outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care for women with high-risk pregnancies and complex maternal medical conditions.
• Perform advanced obstetric ultrasound examinations, including fetal anomaly scans, growth assessments, and Doppler studies.
• Conduct prenatal diagnostic procedures such as amniocentesis and chorionic villus sampling (CVS), where applicable.
• Diagnose and manage fetal abnormalities, multiple pregnancies, fetal growth restriction, preeclampsia, and other maternal-fetal complications.
• Develop individualized treatment plans and coordinate patient care with Obstetrics & Gynecology, Neonatology, Genetics, Anesthesiology, and other specialties.
• Provide antenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum consultations for high-risk obstetric patients.
• Counsel patients and their families on prenatal screening, diagnosis, treatment options, and pregnancy management.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, and continuing medical education activities.
• Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation in accordance with hospital standards and regulatory requirements.
• Supervise and support junior medical staff, residents, and fellows, where applicable.

Qualifications

• MBBS or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution.
• Completion of an accredited Residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology.
• Fellowship or Subspecialty Certification in Maternal Fetal Medicine from a recognized institution.
• Board Certification in Obstetrics & Gynecology and Maternal Fetal Medicine.

Experience

• Minimum 3–5 years of post-board/subspecialty experience as a Consultant in Maternal Fetal Medicine.
• Experience in a tertiary care or referral hospital is preferred.
• Demonstrated expertise in advanced fetal imaging, prenatal diagnosis, and the management of high-risk pregnancies.

Skills & License

• Valid DOH License/Eligibility is preferred. Candidates with DHA or MOH eligibility who are willing to obtain DOH licensure are also encouraged to apply.
• Expertise in managing high-risk pregnancies and complex maternal-fetal conditions.
• Proficiency in advanced fetal ultrasound, fetal anomaly scanning, and prenatal diagnostic procedures.
• Strong clinical judgment, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication, patient counseling, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
