Consultant Multi-Organ Transplant Surgeon (Liver Transplant Focus) - Abu Dhabi

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Consultant Multi-Organ Transplant Surgeon with a focus on Liver Transplantation to join a leading healthcare institution in Abu Dhabi. The role involves providing advanced surgical care for liver transplant patients, performing complex transplant procedures, managing pre- and post-operative care, and contributing to the development of a high-quality transplant program through clinical excellence, collaboration, and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform living and deceased donor liver transplant surgeries.
• Participate in kidney, pancreas, and other abdominal organ transplant procedures as required.
• Manage complex hepatobiliary (HPB) surgical cases.
• Conduct pre- and post-transplant patient care.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary transplant teams.
• Participate in organ procurement, on-call services, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Contribute to teaching, research, and program development.

Qualifications

• Medical Degree (MBBS/MD or equivalent).
• Completion of an accredited General Surgery Residency.
• Fellowship training in Abdominal Organ Transplant Surgery and/or Hepatobiliary (HPB) Surgery.
• Board Certification in General Surgery.
• Fellowship or Board Certification in Transplant Surgery is highly desirable.
• Minimum 5–10 years of post-fellowship consultant-level experience.
• Demonstrated expertise in liver transplantation.
• Experience performing living donor and deceased donor liver transplants.
• Experience in kidney, pancreas, or multi-organ transplantation is preferred.
• Proven experience in complex HPB surgery.
