Job Purpose
The Crew Chief is responsible for leading and supervising Weatherford’s Tubular Running Services (TRS) crew at the wellsite, ensuring all operations are conducted safely, efficiently, and in accordance with Weatherford procedures, customer requirements, and applicable industry standards.
The role provides frontline leadership during casing, tubing, drill pipe, and other tubular running operations. The Crew Chief coordinates closely with the rig crew, client representatives, drilling contractor, and Weatherford operations team to deliver high-quality service, minimize nonproductive time (NPT), and maintain a strong safety and service-quality culture.
The position requires a hands-on leader with strong TRS technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage field operations in a demanding rig environment.
Responsibilities
Lead and supervise TRS crew during rig-site operations.
Safely operate, inspect, and maintain TRS equipment.
Execute casing, tubing, and tubular running operations efficiently and according to approved procedures.
Conduct pre-job meetings, toolbox talks, JSA reviews, and ensure HSE compliance.
Coordinate daily activities with the rig crew, client representatives, and Weatherford operations team.
Monitor equipment performance, torque parameters, and operational progress.
Troubleshoot operational and equipment issues and take appropriate corrective action.
Complete daily reports, job documentation, and equipment records accurately.
Coach and develop TRS crew members to maintain high technical and safety standards.
