Job Description - Mechanical BIM Modeler

Key Responsibilities

3D Modeling: Build detailed digital models of HVAC ducts, pipes, plumbing, and mechanical equipment using Autodesk Revit MEP.

Clash Detection: Run software like Navisworks Manage to find and fix spatial conflicts between mechanical systems and architectural or structural elements.

Shop Drawings: Produce accurate installation plans, coordination drawings, and as-built documentation directly from the model.

System Sizing: Perform basic flow, pressure drop, and pipe or duct sizing verifications.

Cross-Team Collaboration: Meet with architects, structural engineers, and site teams to solve site installation issues. [1, 2, 3, 4]

Job Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.

Experience: 3 to 7+ years working in mechanical engineering, detailing, or BIM coordination for construction projects.

Software Skills: Strong knowledge of Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and cloud platforms like Autodesk Construction Cloud.
