Job Description - Pre -Sales Engineer

Purpose

The Pre -sales Engineer will collaborate with the sales
support or account team by acting as technical experts in customer
presentations. In addition, they determine the technical requirements to meet
client goals and act as liaison between the organization's sales/business
development and engineering groups.


Work Overview
  • Provide pre -sales technical support with a primary focus on Building Management Systems (BMS), including solution design, BOQ preparation, and technical documentation.
  • Work with vendors to select appropriate BMS systems (controllers, sensors, field devices, integration gateways), as well as FDAS panels, switches, and structured cabling.
  • Review project requirements and assist the sales team in preparing technically compliant BMS -driven proposals.
  • Attend client meetings, present BMS solutions, and support during clarifications or tender evaluations.
  • Ensure proposed BMS and related designs align with relevant standards, energy efficiency requirements, and project specifications.
  • Improve negotiations and contract closing by providing BMS -focused technical support to the Sales Team.
  • Create quotes, bill of quantities per design principles, and sales proposals on behalf of the sales team.
  • Liaise with vendors for technical qualification and solution validation.
  • Provide scoping support to sales representatives, and substantiate the solutions offered to prospects from both a requirements and technical point of view.
  • Follow up on and close out all pending items in relation to the requirement through to ensuring thorough level of documentation for handover to the implementation team.
  • Perform any other duties reasonably assigned by Management in support of the company's sales, presales, commercial, and business objectives.




Requirements

Qualifications

  • Strong technical understanding of Building Management Systems (BMS), including controllers, sensors, field devices, communication protocols (BACnet, Modbus, etc.), design principles, and system integration.
  • Knowledge of Fire Detection and Alarm Systems (FDAS) and auxiliary systems such as structured cabling, network switches, firewalls, and access control.
  • Experience working with vendors to correctly select and qualify BMS systems (e.g., Schneider, Honeywell, Johnson Controls, Siemens).
  • Must have strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Must be confident, socially adept, and comfortable in client -facing discussions.
  • Proven track record of exceeding sales or pre -sales targets.
  • Committed to excellence with high attention to detail.
  • Capable of completing technical sales certifications from BMS/FDAS vendors.
  • Able to handle pressure and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.


Work Experience and Education Requirements

  • Degree
    in Engineering or any equivalent course
  • Minimum
    of 2 years of relevant experience in Pre -Sales, BMS, Security systems
    (Fire Alarm, CCTV, Access Control).
