Remittance Growth Executive - South Indian Community

Job Description - Remittance Growth Executive - South Indian Community

The Role

  • Drive du Pay's digital remittance adoption, customer activation, repeat usage, market share, and transaction growth within the South Indian expatriate community across the UAE, with primary focus on the Kerala/Malayali diaspora.
  • Own customer acquisition, activation, retention, dormant-customer reactivation, MAU growth, and remittance-volume performance, reporting to the Channel Lead with functional oversight from the Remittance Lead – du Pay.
  • Operate as a UAE field-based, relationship-led sales and customer-activation professional, combining community engagement, partnership development, and commercial execution.
  • Prioritize the Kerala/Malayali community while also supporting relevant South Indian segments from Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana.
  • Leverage deep knowledge of South Indian community dynamics, associations, cultural events, social structures, and remittance behaviours to build meaningful customer and partner relationships.
  • Convert community access into registrations, KYC completion, first remittance transactions, repeat transactions, dormant-customer reactivation, MAU growth, and increased remittance transaction volume.
  • Recognize the South Indian market's higher digital-banking adoption, higher average remittance values, strong association participation, influence of churches/cultural organizations/social clubs, trust in community recommendations, and participation in organized networks.
  • Apply a relationship-led activation model rather than relying on purely mass-market acquisition, building trust through associations, faith groups, business networks, employers, and community advocates.
  • Measure success through commercial outcomes and active remittance growth rather than activity volumes alone.
  • Build and maintain relationships with Kerala associations, Malayali cultural organizations, business councils, regional community groups, churches, prayer groups, faith organizations, restaurants, cafeterias, grocery stores, retail centers, South Indian business clusters, cricket clubs, football clubs, community sports tournaments, and family clubs/associations.
  • Develop and maintain a structured database of community opportunities.
  • Drive acquisition through community partnerships, association engagement, corporate introductions, community referrals, activation events, and digital advocacy programs.
  • Support customers through app installation, registration, KYC completion, and wallet activation.
  • Own the conversion funnel from Registration KYC Completion Wallet Activation First Transaction Repeat Transaction Active Customer and ensure customers move successfully through every stage.
  • Develop Tier 1 relationships with association presidents, committee members, church representatives, event organizers, and business owners.
  • Develop Tier 2 relationships with WhatsApp administrators, Facebook group administrators, social-media creators, and community advocates, generating referrals through trusted community channels.
  • Build relationships with organizations employing significant South Indian workforces and execute community onboarding sessions, employee awareness programmes, salary-day activation campaigns, and referral drives.
  • Execute culturally relevant activations including Onam and Vishu celebrations, Kerala cultural festivals, South Indian community gatherings, cricket and football tournaments, community sports leagues, family days, community fairs, and business networking events, ensuring every activation delivers measurable customer-acquisition and activation outcomes.
  • Convert registered-but-never-transacted users to first remittance; drive first-time users to a second transaction within 30 days; increase transaction frequency among active users; reactivate dormant users; and strengthen loyalty and referrals among high-value users.
  • Monitor Al Ansari Exchange, Lulu Exchange, Al Fardan Exchange, Careem Pay, BOTIM Pay, e& money, Remitly, and TapTap Send.
  • Track exchange rates, promotions, cashback campaigns, referral programmes, and community activations and provide weekly competitive insights.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of community visits, registrations generated, activations completed, employer engagements, partnership meetings, customer referrals, and transactions activated, ensuring all activity is recorded in company systems.
  • Deliver monthly expectations of 150–250 new registrations, 80–120 first-time remittance transactions, 50–80 dormant-customer reactivations, at least 50 community visits, at least 15 influencer/association meetings, and at least 8 activation campaigns, plus community-specific remittance-volume, active-customer-growth, and MAU-growth targets.
  • Fluent Malayalam is mandatory; English, Tamil, and Hindi are preferred.
  • Minimum 2–4 years of UAE experience with proven field-sales or customer-acquisition experience.
  • Strong understanding of Kerala community networks and the ability to work independently across the UAE.
  • Preferred experience within remittance companies, exchange houses, fintech companies, telecom operators, banking sales channels, merchant-acquisition teams, or FMCG field sales.
  • Strong relationship-building capability, community-engagement expertise, sales mindset, influencing and negotiation, territory management, event activation, customer lifecycle management, CRM/reporting discipline, self-motivation, and accountability.
  • Demonstrable experience with or access to Kerala associations, churches, community groups, or clubs in the UAE, together with employers or organizations that can be accessed immediately.
  • Evidence of monthly sales targets achieved and the ability to present a credible plan to activate 100 new remittance users from the Kerala community within 30 days.
  • Ability to articulate a structured strategy for reactivating dormant remittance customers.
  • Performance incentives are aligned to first-time transactions, repeat transactions, dormant-user reactivation, registration-to-activation conversion, and CRM/reporting compliance, with the strongest emphasis on first-time transactions.
  • Benefit from a market-competitive compensation package complemented by a lucrative performance-linked incentive structure that rewards customer activation, repeat usage, reactivation, commercial growth, and disciplined execution.
  • The ideal profile is a community-connected sales professional—not a marketing coordinator or event organizer—who understands the Kerala diaspora, builds trusted relationships quickly, and consistently converts community engagement into active remittance users and transaction growth.
