Role Purpose 







 




Supervise all aspects of allocated research grants on the funding of honorary seats in the best universities to support and raise the number of research on various topics of Arabic language and culture to enhance its global presence. Also, ensure and supervise the preparation and publication of scientific research that conforms to the standards of the desired results and outputs.

Key Responsibilities 







 




Planning & Strategies 






  • Contribute to the development of plans for managing research grants to support the progress of the Arabic language and research on various topics of the Arabic language and culture in cooperation with the relevant committees. 






 




Management of Educational & Research Grants 






  • Supervise the research and identification of potential funding opportunities for institutions concerned with research on various topics of Arabic language and culture and its advancement. 








  • Ensure that the necessary support and continuous guidance is provided to researchers, higher education institutions and universities locally and globally on the details, objectives, and priorities of research grants and allocated scholarships. 








  • Monitor the selection of funding opportunities for scientific research and supervise the progress of research in accordance with the specified timetables and established research standards and requirements. 








  • Supervise the identification, set and update of standards and requirements for the selection and finance of research in accordance with the identified priorities and plans in cooperation with the relevant teams and committees. 








  • Monitor, evaluate and measure the success of research and scholarship grant plans and programmes to develop and define improvement plans to ensure support, funding and successful dissemination of research relevant to the Arabic language. 








  • Follow-up on the funding of honorary seats in the best international universities to support research on the challenges and opportunities facing the Arabic language, in solid cooperation with relevant universities and institutions in accordance with specific plans and goals. 






Managing Budgets & Awareness 






  • Monitor and follow up the management of scientific research budgets to researchers, universities and relevant higher education institutions, and ensure that financial forecasts for research and scholarships grants are set in line with specific plans, objectives and desired results. 








  • Lead and supervise the development, implementation and management of awareness programs and initiatives to familiarize researchers, universities and institutions concerned with procedures, standards, basics and methods of research to ensure the publication of scientific research that conforms to the specified standards and the required level of quality. 








  • Ensure that meetings related to research and scholarships grants are held and attended with universities, researchers and relevant institutions in accordance with the specified timetables.

  • Ensure effective cascading of the functional strategy into section business plans to ensure vertical alignment and horizontal integration with other interfacing sectional strategies.  






People Management  






  • Manage the effective achievement of assigned objectives through the leadership of the Section by setting of individual objectives, managing performance, developing and motivating staff to maximize performance.  








  • Lead the talent development initiatives for the assigned section, collaborating with technical/discipline experts and thereby ensure the availability of talent to fit business requirements.  








  • Act as a role model and drive adherence to organizational values and ethics by employees of the assigned section to foster a value driven culture within the organization.  






Budgeting & Financial Planning  






  • Manage the preparation and recommend the section budget and monitor financial performance versus the budget while ensuring all sectional activities are conducted in line with the approved guidelines.  






Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures  






  • Manage and ensure effective implementation of functional policies, procedures and controls covering all areas of assigned section activity so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service.  






Continuous Improvement 






  • Lead the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement and sustainability of systems, processes and practices considering global standards, productivity improvement and cost reduction.  






Reporting  






  • Ensure that all section reports are prepared timely and accurately and meet DCT requirements, policies and quality standards.

Qualifications  







 






  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Project Management or equivalent

Experience 







 






  • 5-7 years of experience in Managing Research or Research Grants at a University/Academic Institution, in the field of Scholarship Administration, in the Financial Aid Office, or in the field of Student Affairs Administration or equivalent. 








  •  Preferably have experience in Finance/Budgeting Management.
