The Restaurant Cashier is responsible for handling customer transactions accurately and efficiently, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring a positive dining experience. They greet customers, take orders, process payments, and assist with maintaining a clean and welcoming environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet customers warmly and provide prompt, friendly service.
Take customer orders accurately and input them into the POS system.
Process cash, credit, or debit transactions securely and efficiently.
Issue receipts, refunds, or change as needed.
Answer customer questions about menu items, specials, or promotions.
Maintain cleanliness and organization at the cashier station.
Assist with seating arrangements or guiding customers to tables.
Handle customer complaints or concerns professionally and escalate when necessary.
Balance cash register at the end of each shift and prepare cash deposits.
Support other restaurant staff as needed during busy periods.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Previous experience as a cashier or in customer service preferred.
Strong arithmetic and basic math skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Friendly, approachable, and professional demeanor.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
