Job Description - Associate Director Landscape Architect
An Associate Director Landscape Architect opportunity is available in Newcastle, offering regional leadership responsibility within a multidisciplinary consultancy. This permanent position suits a Chartered Landscape Architect with extensive experience in business development, commercial management and leading multidisciplinary design teams. Projects span education, mixed-use, residential and build-to-rent developments, with additional involvement across infrastructure and regeneration sectors. The role combines strategic planning, client relationship management and operational oversight, with responsibility for regional performance, team development and successful project delivery.
Role & Responsibilities
Lead regional strategy, business operations and commercial performance
Develop client relationships and secure new project opportunities
Oversee budgets, financial forecasting and business targets
Manage senior staff, professional development and succession planning
Coordinate technical teams and maintain project delivery standards
You will represent the practice at senior client meetings and work with regional colleagues to strengthen collaboration, operational efficiency and business growth.
Skills & Experience Required
Chartered Landscape Architect with extensive post-chartership experience
Proven leadership of complex, large-scale landscape architecture projects
Strong commercial awareness and business development experience
Experience securing public sector or multidisciplinary design commissions
Knowledge of UK procurement processes and frameworks
You will demonstrate established industry relationships, confident stakeholder communication and experience managing senior design professionals.
Salary & Benefits
Salary up to £60,000, dependent on experience
Flexible hours and hybrid working, subject to discussion
25 days' annual leave plus bank holidays and birthday off
