Associate Director – Planning

Norwich | £59,000–£75,000 plus bonus

Our client is seeking a Associate Director – Planning in Norwich to join an established planning team.

The team’s workload covers strategic housing, renewable energy, infrastructure, environmental planning and land promotion. You will not be restricted to one narrow stage of the planning process; the intention is for you to see instructions through and understand the commercial decisions behind them.

Where you will add value

Prepare clear planning appraisals, statements and strategic advice.

Manage planning applications and coordinate technical inputs.

Maintain regular, professional communication with clients and project teams.

Negotiate constructively with local planning authorities and other stakeholders.

Review work produced by junior colleagues and support their development.

Contribute to fee proposals, client development and the commercial management of projects.

About you

Mrtpi; major project delivery; work-winning ability and confidence managing teams and budgets. You should also be organised, dependable and able to explain planning issues in straightforward language. The business is interested in people who value good advice and long-term client relationships rather than unnecessary internal politics.

Package and working arrangements

The salary is £59,000–£75,000 plus bonus. The wider package includes bonus, car allowance, healthcare, enhanced pension and progression to Director. Exact arrangements will depend on experience and will be discussed openly during the process.
