Cafe & Kitchen Assistant (various shift patterns)

Keysoe International Café provides a welcoming environment for all guests offering good food and warm friendly service in the heart of the Bedfordshire countryside. We are recruiting for a Café, Kitchen & Bar Assistant with hospitality experience to join the wonderful team to support the daily operation of the café and bar. The role will include assisting in the kitchen preparing food, serving customers, preparing beverages, keeping the fresh deli counter fully stocked and supporting with larger events as required. 

Key Tasks: -

·         To ensure all customers receive high standards of customer service from the bar and café area.

·         To ensure opening up and close of day procedures are correctly adhered to ensure accuracy of sales

·         Daily preparation of food, to include chopping, slicing and storing of fresh ingredients

·         Basic meal preparation, once assessed by head chef

·         Cleaning and organising the food preparation area

·         General kitchen duties, to include cleaning and pot-washing

·         Carrying out stock inventory as and when required by management

·         Ensuring all food is stored in accordance with H&S expectations

·         Serve customers through the till system on both the bar and café

·         Liaise with Bar and Café management around improvements to the units and create a one team atmosphere.

·         Ensure cleaning procedures are maintained, including opening up and end of day cleaning routines.

·         Take customers’ orders directly to their table where appropriate.

·         Dress and decorate the café and bar areas in line with events that are occurring on location.

·         Ensure age restriction procedures are continually in place and monitor responsible drinking at all times

Either full-time or 3-4 days per week.  Must be able to work over weekends on a rota basis.  Opportunities for part-time shifts to work around school pick up/drop off.  07:30 to 11:30 or 11:00 to 14:30 or 15:00
