Cover Teacher (Secondary School) - Taunton

Full-Time | Temp to Perm | Monday to Friday | 08:30am - 4:00pm

Pay: £14.25 - £16.68 per hour

Prospero Teaching is seeking a confident and adaptable Cover Teacher to join a welcoming secondary school in Taunton on a full-time, temp-to-perm basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for aspiring teachers, experienced cover supervisors, graduates considering a career in education, or qualified teachers looking for a varied role. You will be responsible for delivering pre-planned lessons across a range of subjects, ensuring students remain engaged and on task while maintaining a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver pre-prepared lessons across different secondary school subjects.
Manage classroom behaviour effectively.
Ensure students remain focused and engaged in their learning.
Follow school policies and procedures.
Provide feedback to teaching staff regarding student participation and progress.
Build positive relationships with staff and pupils.

The Ideal Candidate Will:

Have experience working with young people in an educational, coaching, mentoring or support capacity.
Be confident managing groups of students.
Possess strong communication and classroom management skills.
Be adaptable and comfortable covering a variety of subjects.
Hold a valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one.
Have the right to work in the UK.
