Job Purpose

As a Driver, you will support Southwark Council's Pest Control Service by transporting Pest Control Operatives to appointments across Southwark and Croydon. You will also assist with manual handling duties and help ensure daily operations run efficiently and safely.

Key Duties/Accountabilities

• Drive Pest Control Operatives to scheduled jobs across the borough.
  
  
  


• Start and finish each day from Copeland Road Depot.
  
  
  


• Follow daily work schedules and allocated routes.
  
  
  


• Assist with moving and lifting household furniture where required.
  
  
  


• Support pest control treatments through manual handling activities.
  
  
  


• Ensure vehicles are operated safely and responsibly.
  
  
  


• Complete vehicle checks and report defects.
  
  
  


• Provide excellent customer service when attending residents' properties.
  
  
  


• Work closely with Pest Control Operatives and Service Managers.
  
  
  


• Follow Health & Safety procedures and manual handling guidance.
  
  
  


• Maintain accurate records as required.
  
  
  

Essential Experience Required

• Previous professional driving experience.
  
  
  


• Experience working in a customer-facing environment.
  
  
  


• Experience carrying out manual handling duties.
  
  
  


• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  
  
  


• Good knowledge of safe driving practices.
  
  
  


• Reliable, punctual, and professional approach.
  
  
  


• Experience working in environmental services, logistics, delivery, waste services, or similar environments is desirable.
  
  
  

Essential Qualifications Required

• Full UK Driving Licence (Clean Licence Required).
  
  
  


• CPC Driving Qualification.
  
  
  


• Manual Handling Training.
  
  
  


• Right to Work in the UK.
  
  
  

Additional Information to Note

• Working hours: 36 hours per week.
  
  
  


• Monday to Friday.
  
  
  


• 08:00 - 16:00.
  
  
  


• Location: Copeland Road Depot, Blackpool Road, London, SE15 3SN.
  
  
  


• Mobile role covering Southwark and Croydon..
  
  


• Home parking agreements may be considered.
  
  
  


• Mandatory Manual Handling Training required.
