The Role

As General Sales Manager, you will be responsible for leading all aspects of the dealership's sales performance. You will inspire, motivate and coach your team to achieve outstanding results while ensuring every customer receives a first-class buying experience.

This is a hands-on leadership position where you will drive sales activity, maximise profitability, manage stock effectively and ensure the dealership consistently exceeds manufacturer and business objectives.

You will be at the heart of the operation, setting standards, driving accountability and creating a culture where success is expected and rewarded.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop Sales Managers and Sales Executives to achieve exceptional performance
  
• Drive new and used vehicle sales to maximise volume and profitability
  
• Deliver and exceed manufacturer targets and dealership objectives
  
• Maximise finance, insurance and ancillary product performance
  
• Monitor and improve key performance indicators across the department
  
• Manage stock levels and vehicle supply to optimise sales opportunities
  
• Ensure FCA compliance and adherence to all company processes
  
• Recruit, train and retain top sales talent
  
• Build strong relationships with manufacturer partners and senior stakeholders
  
• Maintain exceptional standards of customer satisfaction and retention
  

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Proven experience as a General Sales Manager, Head of Sales or Senior Sales Manager within a franchised dealership environment
  
• A track record of delivering strong sales performance and profitability
  
• Outstanding leadership, coaching and team-building abilities
  
• Excellent commercial awareness and analytical skills
  
• Strong knowledge of new and used vehicle sales operations
  
• Experience driving finance and insurance performance
  
• The ability to inspire a team and lead from the front
  
• A customer-focused approach and commitment to excellence
  
• Full UK Driving Licence
