We're supporting a leading player in the UK fresh produce and wholesale distribution sector, seeking a Head of Finance to lead the financial strategy, control, and commercial insight across their UK Wholesale division.

This is a senior leadership role at the heart of a dynamic, fast-moving organisation, where fresh thinking, operational agility, and strong commercial partnership are key.

Key Responsibilities:

Act as Finance Business Partner to the Divisional MD and leadership team, shaping strategy and driving financial performance
Oversee the financial control environment across multiple UK sites
Deliver robust budgeting, forecasting and board reporting
Provide insightful commercial analysis, margin and pricing support, and decision-making guidance
Lead on M&A activity, due diligence, integration, and post-deal optimisation
Monitor and improve financial systems, controls and audit readiness (SOX compliance)
Develop and coach a distributed finance team, fostering a high-performance culture
Drive continuous improvement and consistency across processes, reporting, and KPIsWhat We're Looking For

Qualified Accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA), ideally with 5+ years PQE in a senior finance role
Must have strong experience in FMCG, fresh produce, food wholesale, or similar high-volume environments
Demonstrable leadership in multi-site finance operations
Excellent stakeholder management - capable of influencing across functions and seniority levels
Commercially astute, analytical, and comfortable in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Strategic mindset with hands-on delivery capability
Strong commercial acumen: pricing, contract negotiation, customer/supplier margin managementThis is a fantastic opportunity for a senior finance professional looking to step into a strategic, visible role within a leading fresh food and FMCG organisation.
